Initial set up of chromcast

I am replacing my Amazon Fire TV remote with the Google Chromcast. I've followed the set up instructions. I now have to turn on the TV with the Amazon Fire remote, the I can use the Chromcast remote. HOWEVER, the "set up lady" keeps talking to me! How do I:

1. Get rid of the Fire TV Remote so the tv will turn on/off with the Chromcast remote and

2. How do I shut off the "set up lady" from talking??

Thank you for posting. Sorry for any inconvenience you might have with the setup process. Help's here.

To remove the Fire TV Stick, there is an Amazon Forum. You can check the instructions on how to do that: Amazon Forum. For the set-up voice that still shows, the main reason is because it still shows the Fire Stick device on the TV and the Chromecast was not finished with the set-up.

After you removed the Fire TV Stick, then please try to set up the Chromecast one more time. Here is the link on how to set it up again: Set up a Chromecast.

If it does not work, try to reboot your Chromecast. Here are the steps:

Make sure your Chromecast is within 15–20 feet (4–6 m) of the Wi-Fi router, if possible.
Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone or tablet, if not already turned on.
Turn off mobile or cellular data.
Reboot your router. Most routers just require that you unplug the power source and then plug it back in to reboot.
Reboot Chromecast by removing the power cable, then reconnect it.
Reboot your phone or tablet.
Make sure you're using the latest version of the apps you want to cast from by checking your app store for any updates.
Restart those apps.
- Android: Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the app.
- iPhone/iPad: Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the app. On older devices with a home button, double-click the home button, then swipe up on the app.
Turn Wi-Fi off and on again on your phone or tablet.
Reopen the app(s) you want to cast from.

If none of the above steps didn't work, you can try factory-resetting your Chromecast to refresh the connection.
