remote power on button problem

Good morning everyone! I have a TV with google tv/chromecast built in. The tv in all aspects is great. Except for its remote that it came with. So I bought the voice control google remote for chromecast from google. Connected it to my tv and works a treat. Except for one small issue, the remote will do everything including turning the tv off. But won’t turn the tv on at all. Have to still use the crappy remote that came with the tv. Any suggestions? Thank you for posting. I'm sorry that the remote control isn't working when turned off. Help's here.

Please follow the steps to set up the bottom of the control:

To start setup, turn on Chromecast at the top right of the TV screen and select profile settings.
If they haven’t added a device yet, they’ll need to add one before they can continue.
1. Select Remotes and Accessories Under Chromecast remote setup, select Set up remote buttons. Add a device.
2. Select the device and type the device brand.

Then, under your control, please do the following:

From the remote control setup screen, select Power.
Turn off the TV by pressing the power button on the remote. Wait eight seconds before turning the TV back on.
Under Did the Power Button Work?, Select Yes or No, and try again.
