    <description>&lt;P&gt;I use the casting function with a variety of apps, and this happens it all of them. Disney+, Pocketcasts, HBO Max, Netflix, Spotify, Plex etc&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I will cast content from the Android app on my Pixel 7 Pro to my Chromecast Ultra connected by cable to the internet, and after some time, depends, I will no longer have the controls in the dropdown menu, and I will have to open the app I was using, reconnect and then get controls back. In some cases also losing progress history on the movie, podcast etc in question.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Battery optimization turned off on the respective content apps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What can be done to amend this?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Restart your phone and Chromecast. You can unplug your Chromecast Ultra for a minute, then plug it back in to restart it.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Ensure you have a stable network connection with both devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If you have a dual-band router, connect both devices to the 5 GHz band for a faster connection.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Check if the apps you use for casting and your Chromecast are updated. Update your apps on the Play Store and follow this article for &lt;A href="https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6292664?hl=en" target="_self"&gt;Chromecast firmware updates within the Google Home app.&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Chromecast is wired in, as I originally wrote. The other casting devices I use are all connected to the same, stable, WiFi.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Battery optimization and (other restrictions) &amp;nbsp; that can be turned off already has been, as mentioned in the original post. Unless they're hidden in even more menus I haven't found.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Restarts performed multiple times, no change&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Everything is up to date&lt;/P&gt;</description>
