No possible way to use "approved content only" feature for youtube kids on chromecast.

Hi,

I'm not sure if anyone here has insight into roadmap/plans for chromecast and the youtube / youtube kids apps, but thought I'd ask just in case.

It seems like there is no way currently to use the "approved content only" approach to specifically limit what videos/channels are available to your kids. It seems that the youtube kids app available on chromecast is lacking this function which is available on ios (and andriod, i believe) - it simply has no sign in or specific controls.

Alternatively, if using the main youtube app with a "supervised" youtube account, you can only set a broad content restriction setting for the account that allows children to access all videos that youtube itself has approved for a certain age range (starting at 7+).

Just asking others to confirm if the above is accurate, and for any info you've seen about improvements planned for this situation.

Send feedback: While there aren't confirmed plans yet, you can help us by sending feedback and resolving this inconvenience as soon as possible.
Cast YouTube from Phone/Tablet: You can still cast YouTube Kids from your phone feedback tablet to the Chromecast. This allows you to manage content through the mobile app's parental controls, but it requires your device to be actively playing the content.
Use Profiles on Chromecast with Google TV: If you have a Chromecast with Google TV, consider creating separate profiles. This allows you to set up a profile specifically for your child and restrict access to the main YouTube app entirely. However, this restricts all YouTube content, not just on the Kids app.
