Hi @xRorkr,

It sounds like you've encountered a bit of a challenge with your Chromecast's resolution after a power outage. Here are some steps you can try to get it working normally in 4K again:

1. Restart Chromecast and Laptop:

A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches. Unplug your Chromecast from the power source and wait for 30 seconds before plugging it back in. Restart your laptop as well.

2. Check Chromecast Settings:

Make sure your Chromecast is set to the highest resolution possible. You can usually adjust this through the Google Home app on your phone or tablet. Go to the device settings for your Chromecast and look for options related to display or resolution.

3. Verify Network Connection:

While you mentioned it connects in 4K on the 5Ghz band, try connecting it to the 2.4Ghz band of your router as well. Sometimes, 5Ghz can be unstable and cause connection issues. You can usually switch between bands in your laptop's WiFi settings.

4. Update Chromecast Firmware:

Outdated firmware can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Check for any available updates for your Chromecast through the Google Home app. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.

5. Factory Reset Chromecast (Last Resort):

If none of the above steps work, a factory reset might be necessary. This will erase all your settings on the Chromecast. Reset instructions can be found on the Google support page https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6254654?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid. Be sure to back up any important settings before proceeding.

If for some reason you still have the same issue after those troubleshooting steps don't hesitate to let me know.

Regards,

Mario.

Good evening, 2 weeks ago I bought my chromecast, as the signal from my router was bad, I started to connect it to the access point of my laptop.
everything perfect, until today, was working quietly, then the power went out ... when everything was normalized I turned it on, the chromecast was in 1080, to put it in 4k disconnected from the network and would not let me connect again, only allowed me in 1080
I was testing a little bit and I saw that when I put the access point in 5g it let me connect in 4k, what is happening? before it worked normally, now the normal is in 1080 and after that I have to move things to make it work. ?
