Google will show that when it knows (like when you see the satellite pictures).

But, it does not always get that information from its sources. So, at this time, your workaround using Image Search is the best option.

I am wondering how I can find the location and other information on the subjects of Google Feature Photos which show up on my Google TV when it is idle. I see the name of the artist, but often would be interested to identify the name of the mountain or other feature on the photo. I have searched on the web. he only answer I have found so far is to use a "reverse Google image search". This seems cumbersome. Any other suggestions?
