Chomecast menu cursor stuck moving up

Hello,

my Chromecast has been working fine for a long time. but recently when it is turned on it cursor is stuck moving up. If i press down on the remote it goes down briefly and then straight back up. the only way it works is if i power it off at the wall and back on. it then works until I return to the home screen and then get stuck up again. I have reset and repaired the remote to no avail. Im assuming this has happened after some sort of update.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Ugh, that sounds annoying!

I would also try a factory reset to the Chromecast to see if that helps in addition to the reset of the remote if you haven't done that yet.

You can also order a new remote or use your android device as a virtual remote.

Have tried a factory reset and still the same. I dont believe it is the remote because the virtual remote does the same thing.
