I would like to congradulate Google and Chromecast for breaking my tv.

All indications are that it will not be possible to fix my tv and I will have to probably buy a new one.

My tv worked with Chromecast for one afternoon. Then I tried switching the tv off with my old remote control and it simply did not work anymore. I therefore tried switching off the tv with the hijack Chromecast remote and it kind of switched off - but the backlights of the tv were still on. They were still on when I wanted to go to bed, so I pulled out the plug from the wall socket.

The next day the tv only had a black screen. Ocasionally the Phillips logo appeared but nothing could bring it to start. Eventually the tv kind of went into a 'DOS-like' mode with a prompt to restart android or make a factory reset. I went through everything - multiple times - but nothing works.

I reset Chromecast and attached it. Detached it. Tried everything. Nothing works...

I have even run a factory start from a usb Phillips sent me - without success...

I am left with a black screen tv that cost me around 1000 Euro that was working totally fine.
Its a very strange feeling - not very different than if google came into my house and stole my tv.

Well basically they have done that.

I wonder, with all their billions, whether google has a moral department that will re-imburse my poltry 1000 Euro.

I guess we all know the answer to that...

Thank you
