Chromecast Ambient Mode Issues

Issue #1: Google Photos Ambient mode wont let me use selected albums.

Issue #2: Google Photos Ambient mode when selecting favorites doesn't recognize that I have changed my favorite images and still uses a number of old images

This is as much a Google Photos issue as it is a Chromecast issue

Please try the steps here:

Restart your phone: A simple reboot can often resolve temporary glitches.
Reinstall the Google Home app: Uninstalling and reinstalling the app can sometimes fix permissions.
Try a different phone: If possible, see if Ambient Mode works using another phone with the Google Home app installed.
Restart your Chromecast: A restart can help clear any cached data. Follow these steps to Reboot your Chromecast, depending on the model you have.
Check App Updates: Make sure both Google Home app and Google Photos are updated to the latest versions.
Google Photos Album: Create a new album in Google Photos with the pictures you want to display in Ambient Mode. Set the album privacy to "Public" so that Google Home app can access it. Refer to this article: Share photos & videos.
