YouTube resumes playing on its own randomly

We often watch YouTube on our Chromecast but for the last couple months whenever we pause the show or video it will randomly start playing, sometimes minutes later, sometimes after half an hour or more. We have a toddler we're chasing around and often we'll pause to do something else or because we hear something from the other room and the video will just start playing on its own. We have also noticed when we cast content it will many time start playing the video we were watching last time, not the current video we tried to cast. It seems like a minor thing but it's incredibly frustrating and surprising to start playing video suddenly when we have it paused.

Can you help? We've tried restarting all the devices. We even tried getting a new Chromecast but it still happens with the new device.

To better understand the situation, please help me by answering the following questions:

What model of Chromecast device do you have?
Does this happen with other apps?
Is the YouTube app up-to-date? This is on the Chromecast and your phone.
Have you tried to cast from a different device (a phone, tablet, or computer)?

Additionally, I will share some troubleshooting steps; please give them a try:

Depending on the model of your Chromecast, you can perform a soft reset (reboot) on your device.
If you have the Chromecast with Google TV, you can try clearing the cache through the Chromecast device or even uninstalling the YouTube app.
If by doing the previous step the inconvenience still exists, the next step is to do a factory reset on your Chromecast device.
