Trying to love my Pixel

What is the logic with not allowing an up to date Pixel 8 phone to cast to any smart TV...versus making someone use a Chromecast unit or Chromecast equipped TV? My Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus phones all are capable of casting to any smart TV, but the company that makes the software to run all of those phones makes their own phone that is incapable of doing that basic function without a support device or special TV. It makes NO sense to me. I want to use and love my Pixel, but I can't give this one basic function that I use consistently.

Are there plans to fix this in the near future??
