setting up Chromecast on my tv

I don't have a smart tv or a google tv and I got a Chromecast to make it a smart tv. The only problem is I don't have the original power cable that goes into the wall from the Chromecast, I have a charger that fits but I was wondering if that's the reason why it isn't letting me set it up?

Hey there,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to set up that Chromecast? If not, I'd be happy to help out! Now, for the power requirements for the power cable and adapter, here they are: 100–240V ~0.2A 50–60Hz Output: 5.1V. As long as they meet those requirements, it should work just fine.

When you are setting up the device, does it give you any kind of error at all?
