Hi Lusvin,

thanks a lot for your reply and your help! Here are the answers to you questions:

It's a Chromecast HD with Google TV (white)

I'm using an Android device

I'm not using a WiFi Hotspot

The LED is white (not flashing)

Yes, I can see the device in my Google Home app

The router is basically next to the Chromecast, so that shouldn't be a problem. As mentioned, we already tried turning both Chromecast and Router off and on again. We also did a factory reset, after which the Chromecast worked for a day but then showed the exact same behaviour again afterwards, i.e. in the Network Settings it shows my WiFi constantly switching from "Connected" to "Saved" to "Connecting" to "Obtaining IP address" to "No internet" back to "Connected".

I'm not quite sure how to set up the Chromecast on a specific band - do I need to change any settings in my router?

Chromecast loses Wifi connection. After first installing it, it worked fine for a couple of days. But then it showed an error saying it was unable to connect to Wifi. In the settings, we saw that it was constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. So we rebooted the chromecast and the router, without success. We then did a factory reset which seemed to work, but after a day the same issue occurred again, rendering the chromecast basically unusable. Our wifi connection is stable and the TV is right next to the router

Hi, @GeraldineLina,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm truly sorry to hear that your Chromecast device is losing the WiFi connection even after rebooting it. I'll be happy to assist you.

To provide me with more information and help me find a resolution, please answer the following questions:

What model of Chromecast do you have? (If you don't know the model of the Chromecast, please let me know what color it is.).

Are you using an iOS or Android device?

Are you using a WiFi hotspot?

What is the status of the LED light on the Chromecast?

Can you see your Chromecast device listed in the Google Home app?

Please ensure that your Chromecast device is within 15 to 20 feet of the router. If it's outside of that range, it may not receive enough signal to work properly.

In the meantime, let's try some troubleshooting steps:

Reboot the WiFi router and Chromecast device.

If you have a dual-band router, try setting up Chromecast on either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bands. (Chromecast 1st Gen is only compatible with 2.4 GHz WiFi networks.)

In the case that the previous steps do not work, please try the factory reset.

I hope this information and troubleshooting can help you with this. I'll be here to assist you further.

Please keep me updated.

Best regards,

Hi @GeraldineLina,

Thanks for following up! I'm sorry to hear that your Chromecast is losing connection from the Wi-Fi network. I'm here to help.

I appreciate all the details provided. Since the factory reset process didn't work as expected, I'd like to ask if you've made any changes to the Wi-Fi network. Additionally, regarding your question about how to change the Wi-Fi network band, please refer to this article: Change the Wi-Fi network of Chromecast or Chromecast Audio.

If these steps don't work as expected, try the following:

Check for any updates to your router's firmware if needed. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause issues.

Try changing the IP isolation on your router. If you're unsure how to do this, refer to your ISP. For reference, you can check out this article: AP Isolation is enabled.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,
