    <description>&lt;P&gt;I don't know what happened, but by checking some of the router settings, I found a setting related to mac filtering that I had previously done and added this same Chromecast but in the whitelist so that only it and the rest of the list can be connected, but I was surprised that the list turned from a whitelist to a black list, so the opposite became the case by preventing all devices in the list from connecting ... When I disabled the mac filtering function, everything worked as before .... I don't know what caused this change, maybe there was an update that changed the mac address of Chromecast or something like that, I don't know, but the issue has been resolved, so please ask the questioner to check all these settings, maybe the same situation happened to you!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Chromecast not connecting to WiFi</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Everything was working fine until yesterday when we upgraded our broadband with a new router and password. Tried to connect the chromecast to the new network but no joy. Google home app is finding the Chromecast, locating the new network, but when I sign in with the new details, it fails to connect. Now I can't use any apps like Netflix etc. I've factory reset the chromecast, reinstalled the Home app and reset router and restarted both the phone and TV.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;TV is LG, phone is Motorola Móto G84 and Chromecast is 2nd gen. Network is around 300-500 mps on WiFi. Any help would be appreciated as family is in mini meltdown.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The same issue happened to me starting yesterday as well, but there was no change in the wifi network that led to this, it's just that when I turned on the TV to show some videos on it using the Chromecast as my daily habit, I was surprised by a message on the screen that it cannot connect to the wifi network and when I did all my attempts including a factory reset, restarting the router and restarting the TV as you did, I got nothing and I live in Egypt by the way and I didn't know if the issue is general or specific to me until I saw your message, it seems that something has happened either on the device support side or on the internet and router side and I don't know what the solution is so I hope someone can help us to find a solution!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I’m grateful for your time and effort in completing these troubleshooting steps described in the post. So let's explore more tips.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The Chromecast device should be within 20 feet or as close as possible to the mobile device used for setup and equally close to the Wi-Fi router. Proximity allows for the best Wi-Fi connection possible.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Try to set up a mobile hotspot on a second mobile device.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;On the second device, turn on mobile data and hotspot.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;On the first device, turn on the WiFi, then connect to the hotspot of the second mobile device.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;From the first device, open the Google Home app.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Choose the Chromecast that you want to set up.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Follow the prompts until it reaches the Wi-Fi setup screen.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Select the mobile hotspot as the WiFi network.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Enter the password for the hotspot network.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Click the Set Network button.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Additional information: You can try to follow these steps:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Disconnect your wifi network.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Try to perform a factory reset again. When your device is ready to set up again, reconnect the wifi network.&lt;/LI&gt;
