Google TV Streamer audio sync issue

I use YouTube, Prime, Disney and Crave.

Audio is never perfectly synced. When it is optimal after a reboot the audio is very very slightly delayed. If I compare on a fire stick or on native apps on my Samsung tv the audio is perfectly synced.
After some time the delay increases up to 1 or 2 seconds. At least once every day I need to restart the google streamer. Reboot fixes the issues but there is still a very small delay as mentioned in my first bullet point.

EDIt: I have tested the Streamer on a second TV (2017 Panasonic 1080p) and the audio sync issue is there too.

Same problem here, audio sync to my LG OLED TV is very problematic. Other streaming devices plugged into the same TV do not exhibit this issue.

Hi Jeremy,

Yes 5Ghz. Tested speed on the streamer is 360Mbps constant. I have no internet issue, fast loading and no buffering interruptions.
Yes Google Home app up to date
Yes smartphone up to date but unrelated to the issue. I was not broadcasting, just using Android TV apps.
GTV Streamer version: UTT3.240625.001.K5

Same issue here, audio is out of sync with video feed. As other have described video is ahead of the audio.

FWIW - It appears that the issue may only occur (for me at least) when setting the "Volume control" option to "Google TV Streamer". I only started to experience the issue shortly after (within 24 hours) switching to that option. And once I switched back to the "Auto (CEC)" option the problem went away - no reboot required. Working fine since (about 24 hours now). Will post here again if the problem returns.

I found the setting in remote and accessories @thejeffbeck . However @gandalfbets mine has always been on auto. It does not fix the issue. I suspect this is equivalent to rebooting the Streamer, are you sure you don't have a slight delay around 100-200ms? Not everyone notice

Correct - it's a setting for the remote. And as to still having a "slight delay" - all I can say is that if there is one, it is now imperceptible to me, even after almost 2 days of use. Whereas before I reverted that option, it had become very obvious after less than a day.

Same audio sync issue's here.

Short of trying a different television all together and/or alternative HDMI cable, I can't find away of making the problem go away or improve.

I recall an issue with the Chromecast 4k however, switching the output types fixed it. No dice on the Google TV Streamer.

Can you provide us a video of the issue? This would be extremely helpful in diagnosing the problem.
Please provide the model names of your TV, soundbar, and AV receiver.
- What is your setup like?
  - Is the Google TV Streamer connected directly to the TV?
  - Is there a soundbar or AV receiver connected to the TV?
  - Are there other devices connected to the soundbar or AV receiver?
  - What kind of cables are you using ( eARC or ARC, optical audio cable)?

Hi Manuel , I appreciate you checking in. It's difficult to get a video of the problem. But it's pretty simple, the video is ahead of the audio. You'll see the lips move of a person talking, then hear the corresponding audio 100ms or so later. All of the "audio sync" options on the TV allow me to delay the audio to match, but in this case the audio needs to speed up.

TV is a Samsung QN65Q60TAF, Soundbar is a Samsung SA61A. The Google TV Streamer is connected directly to the TV via HDMI (recent cable). The Soundbar is connected to the TV via HDMI using the eARC hdmi port. There are no other devices connected to the soundbar or the TV. I did not have this problem when using the same configuration and my 2nd gen chromecast. I also don't have any problems with audio delay when using the TV's smart features.

Please let me know if there is other information I can provide.

Hi,

TV: Samsung S90D. I also tested my old TV: Panasonic AS540 from 2015. Issue happens on both TVs.
Setup is simple: no soundbar, no AV receiver, no Bluetooth speaker.
It is just the Streamer and the TV. I have tested multiple HDMIs and even purchased a new one HDMI 2.1 with gold plated ends.

I also have a Chromecast with GTV and it does not have the issue on the same TVs.

Note that I have opened another ticket about video dropframes. Both issues are probably linked. Could be about bad hadware decoding implementation, as I have also noted in my other ticket that Youtube is only outputing 1080p and having dropframes, which does not make sense because my other devices at home output 4K on youtube (Fire stick, Samsung TV native youtube app).

I bought 2 Google TV Streamer
First one works fine with Vizio M420SL
But the second one works with Philips 24PFH4252/96 not good.
The audio and video is not synced.
Please help me to solve the problem.

@maedacortez do you have a status update? I think it is an issue for everyone.
Please also try to reproduce dropframes and viewport stuck in 1080 mentioned in my other ticket: just display the youtube stats for nerds and you'll see it.
