Chromecast 4k supports 1440p ?

I have 1440p monitor, and I want the best possible quality for it. Do I have to go with google chromecast 4K or just HD ? Does the 4K version supports 1440p and can provide a better quality on 2k monitor .. ?

Turn on your Google streaming device, and then at the top right of your TV screen, go to All settings.
Select Display & Sound:

From there, you can select Resolution and choose your preferred screen resolution (if available).
