No sound with new Streamer 4K

I bought the new Google streamer and it doesn’t recognise my TV or my sound bar as they are both from Aldi( Bauhn models).

Soundbar is connected via OPT directly into the TV

Sound bar won’t even pair in BT mode.

Is there a way I can get around this and use them separately to the remote so they the remote is just a remote to choose what I want to watch.

Surely I don’t have to connect a sound device to listen to everything.

They work on any other devices I have so it appears this is a streamer remote issue only.
