Chromecast defaulting to Spanish and can't change settings

I'm running into an issue where I finally got my chrome cast set up to work, but the instructions were all in Spanish. I was hoping by the end of the set up I could go to settings and change the language to English, but to my dismay I was able to click on everything on the home screen post set up EXCEPT for the settings gear.

Could you please explain what happens when you go to the settings (gear icon) on the Google TV Streamer home screen?
Does the Google TV Streamer allow you to perform the following steps?
- On the Google TV Streamer home screen, go to Settings (gear icon),
- Select System, then select "Language," choose a language, and select the radio button beside it.

If the Google TV Streamer doesn’t allow you to perform these steps, please send me a picture of the home screen and another picture showing what happens when you try to select the gear icon next to the profile icon. Also, it will be necessary to factory reset the device and set it up again.
