Google TV Streamer is a huge headache

The Google TV Streamer is a huge pain when it comes to setting it up connected to a latest generation Yamaha RX-A4A amplifier. It doesn't detect any Dolby system. I had to return it.

When they have the equipment fully adapted and updated to current sound systems, it will be very successful. Let me know by then to buy it.

I have the same issue with my Yamaha RX-A3070 after changing to the google streamer. Only PCM 2 channel sound unless I watched an Atmos enabled film which then showed as "Atmos/PCM" on the amp but it only played through the main speakers and centre speakers with no sound from the rears or any of the atmos effects speakers. Worked fine with my Chromecast with tv 4K but this new streamer sucks

I actually just bought a Yamaha RX-A4A and the Google TV Streamer is plugged directly into one of the HDMI ports on the back of the receiver. I get full Dolby Atmos support and all channels on the receiver work properly. Maybe worth plugging in directly to the receiver? If the TV you use does not support Dolby Atmos in the same way as the receiver wants to decode the signal, you may get the wrong audio output.

It's plugged directly into my amp. Tried different cables, all rated for 4k but to no avail.

The Yamaha RX-A4A receiver is compatible with the Chromcast 4k, with the TV also supports LG 65OLEDC3PLA.... tested on several occasions, but with the Google TV Streamer it is totally impossible and I have tried several times and in different settings.

I'll do some further testing and come back. I use an AudioQuest Forest 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 cable. I've only had the RX-A4A for a day.

I use the best cables, because I love sound and video, mine is all Fusion 8K. Even because of those, this device works... VAYA DOLOR DE CABEZA... An element that is behind all the people that Google has cannot go out with incompatibility with a great brand like Yamaha.
