Hi Byron
Thanks for responding

I did mention in my post that "I have factory reset the device. While filling it out I was able to confirm that the long press on the center button"
And actually I did that two times after this post.
However, I need to report that my issue was 'spontaneously' resolved.
I did not to change what had already been done. It just started working
I do believe I managed to figure out what may have caused the 72 hours of frustration that fits all the evidence I have, esp when on the same device my backup account was completely unaffected.

I was watching Youtube and was skipping ads like a mad man. As soon as an ad started I would press up on the remote and go to the "i" icon that displays information about the video where you can chose to "stop seeing this ad" for these reasons:

Inappropriate
Repetitive
Irrelevant

I was selecting either Repetitive , or Irrelevant. And rarely chose inappropriate. I guess the "algorithm" thought I was a bot or something. So for 72 hrs I was in in YouTube jail... If this was the case it would be nice to get a warning before disabling functions. Or at least an explanation of why my account was crippled.

If you find this to be true on your end, I only ask for in the future; a warning before action is taken or explanation of the action take to other customers. I am happy to have my full access back. No need to enlighten me if I was correct. I consider this matter closed. 🙂

Again Thanks for your input Byron

In YouTube only.

While browsing videos I cannot in Chromecast device:
Use the center button (held down for a few seconds) to get extra options to save later, hide, save to play list, etc any video from any page on YouTube

While watching ANY video,
I cannot select, Play Lists, Settings, Comments. Save to watch later.

Changed the batteries for the remote
Restarted the device
Reset the remote
I have cleared cache for all apps, removed all apps, restarted, added apps back, YouTube still did not work
I have factory reset the device. While filling it out I was able to confirm that the long press on the center button works fine while filling out user name and password
Unplugged the device, waited 10 min, reconnected power, Same symptoms
Any other ideas would be appreciated

THX BC

Hi Blackcloud161,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that you're having troubles selecting the Play Lists, Settings, comments, and save options while watching a YouTube video on your Nest Chromecast device. I really appreciate the effort to troubleshoot the situation. I understand how frustrating this can be. I'm here to help.

I just want to confirm. Did you try to do a factory reset for your streamer device?

You can perform a factory reset on your Google streaming device depending on the model. Here is a good article on how to factory reset your Chromecast.

Please keep me posted. I look forward to your response.

Regards,
