No audio on Google tv

Have an onn tv which audio works for on other apps, when I go to the Google tv streamer I get no audio on any app. I have tried restarting it, turning off the TV and back on again both with cec enable and disabled, Switched HDMI ports, disabled auto surround sound, in settings selected tv streamer for volume control. No updates for the streamer or tv

I have a possibly similar issue, no sound with a new Google TV Streamer plugged in to a Hisense U8N
I have noticed that sound works briefly, system sounds like the click when moving around the UI, but only for a few seconds after the HDMI connection is establised

Have you tried switching the hdmi-cec off? This did resolve the issue to some degree in my case. Unfortunately you will no longer be able to control the tv volume using the google remote.

Thank you, that has worked. I'm able to leave CEC enabled so I can still turn the TV on and off with the google streamer remote, but set the volume controls to control the google streamer volume and not the TV volume.
