topic Chromecast 4k output signal intermittent in Streaming

My Chromecast 4K works fine for a while and then suddenly the video output stops, although the audio continues. After a few seconds the HDMI usually syncs again and I get the video back, but sometimes I have to reboot it. Last night the video stopped, the audio continued and when the signal reappeared it was showing the Google TV screensaver plus the original program audio - which suggests something is going wrong with the streamer.

It's not a wi-fi problem, it is connected 5Ghz to a router with 350Mbps Internet less than a metre away. It's not cable as it is connected straight into an 8k HDMI input on my AVR. It's not the AVR or projector as the problem never happens using another signal source.

Any ideas?

Hi Ianmacairns,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that the video output stops but the audio continues.

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

How many devices do you have connected to the WI-FI?

Is there any damage in the HDMI?

How far is the Google streaming device from the router?

Is the internet connection stable?

In the mean time, please do these troubleshooting below:

Connect the HDMI in a different port

Use another HDMI

Restart the Chomecast 4K

Take a look at these articles: Reboot your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer - Android - Streaming Help - Requirements for Chromecast and Google TV Streamer devices - Streaming Help.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
