Old Chromecast Removed & Reset - still looking for old wifi

Product = Chromecast older generation from 2021 or 2022

Platform - television

The device has been deleted from the app. The device has been unplugged multiple times for 1min+. The device is still looking for the old wifi - even when I try to re-add it to the app.

Help resolve this issue.

Removing the device from the app does not factory reset it, nor does unplugging it from power.

You’ll need to factory reset your Chromecast, using the physical reset button on the device not the app, then set it up again using your new Wi-Fi network and password. If you're using Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer, follow these setup steps instead.

For future reference, instead of factory resetting your Chromecast, if you're comfortable changing your router settings, you can change your new Wi-Fi network name and password in your router's settings to be the same as the previous ones. Your Chromecast will then automatically connect to the Wi-Fi.

For others who may not want to click link after link to figure this out - Found the reset button on my super old device, pressed it without it being connected to the TV. The problem persisted.

Tried it again while connected to the TV and held the button until the light turned red, blinked, then flashed quickly, then it turned white.

Then it connected to the Google Home app on my Android - COMPLETELY FAILED setup on Google Home on my iPhone 15.
