Correct way to wire Google Streamer 4K to TV & Soundbar (Issue with Samsung Q-Symphony)

I've seen people say it both ways, but should I wire it this way:

Option 1
Google 4K Streamer to HDMI In on Soundbar and then HDMI ARC Out to TV ARC (uses 1 HDMI port on TV)

Option 2

Google 4K Streamer to HDMI on TV
and then
Soundbar HDMI ARC to HDMI ARC on TV (Uses 2 HDMI ports on TV)

I'm currently running Option 1 and it works great, but I'm using a Samsung TV and Samsung Soundbar but can't seem to get Q-Symphony to work all the time and can't figure out why, wondering if the Google TV Streamer 4K is not compatible with it.

So I switched to Option 2 and it seems to be working correctly now. So even though the streamer allows pass-through, for some reason Q-Symphony is not always compatible with it. But now I have amazing sound. The only drawback is I can't control the soubdbar on it's own through the Google remote, but since the soundbar is connected to HDMI ARC it does not really matter, when I lower the voice on the TV it lowers it on the Soundbar and tv volume through Q-Symphony.

Could you provide the exact model numbers for your Samsung TV and Samsung Soundbar?
Is the Google TV Streamer 4K plugged directly into the TV, or is it going through another device (like an AV receiver or HDMI switch)?
When Q-Symphony is not working, where is the sound coming from?
Have you checked if both the Samsung TV and Samsung Soundbar have the latest firmware updates installed?
