I believe my TV does support it (I cannot remember what LG calls it). Either way, I tried every setting in the streamer from 1080, 4k (24), 4k (60), etc... and none of them worked. But when I bypassed the Google Streamer for the app built into the TV, it was perfect. That tells me my TV was able to adapt to whatever the Superbowl was shot it? I'm a novice at this, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've had issues getting a good picture that is smooth whenever I play Netflix. After playing with various setting for the streamer, I finally found a setting that worked. But today, I upgraded YouTube TV to 4K for the Superbowl and cannot find a combination of settings that work. No matter what I did, the picture wasn't smooth (stuttering). I eventually used the TV's built-in YouTube TV app, and the picture was flawless. So the issue is with the Google Streamer, but I'm not sure what the issue is. Being that there is also a known (and unresolved) issue with sound pass thru, the streamer really turned out to be a huge disappointment. Does anyone have an explanation or setting fix for getting YouTube TV 4K to work properly? Im using a Yamaha receiver as well, streamer is plugged into the receiver. Previous CCw/GTV was set up this way and both sound and picture were flawless and operated as expected.

Your TV doesn't support frame rate matching so you need to set it manually in the streamer.

Find out the frame rate of the super bowl and set your streamer to that.

This will stop the stuttering

Forgot the Google youtube app. It doesn't support frame rate matching either so is broken for everyone.

I forgot to mention that there are issues with Netflix for me as well, once again I tried the Netflix app on the TV directly and it was a perfect picture. Finally, if I plug back in my old GTVw/CC, I get a perfect 4k picture again (for Netflix), I didn't attempt it with the Superbowl).

Hello RY2,

Thank you for taking an interest in our community. I understand you have concerns regarding if your Google TV Streamer is compatible with your LG G3 TV. No worries; I’m happy to help.

To provide you with accurate troubleshooting steps, I would appreciate your assistance in answering the following questions:

When did the trouble first occur?

Do you experience this trouble casting streaming content?

What is the model of your Yamaha receiver?

Have you tried to test if connecting the Google device directly to your TV has the same behavior?

Are you using an Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 certified cable?

Are the Google Cast devices’ firmware updated?

I'll be looking forward to hearing back.

Regards,

Daniel

Hi Morales, I'm going to assume your a bot based on your response. The answer to your questions is "yes" and I have an RX model Yamaha receiver.

I started playing around with this again yesterday and what I found was that all my apps that are built into the LG TV have a better picture than the Google Streamer apps. It's really easy to tell on the apps startup screen (N for Netflix, Blue Disney, purple Max, etc...) if you're getting a pixelated picture. I always assumed that that's just how it was until I tested it against the LG built in apps which are far superior quality. The picture then gets worse when DolbyVision or HDR10 is activated. Like the sound issue, this can be fixed a bit if you turn off auto and manually select some things, but still the picture is worse, even when just viewing 4K. I swapped out the HDMI to the receiver as well just to check, still a worse picture.

Tomorrow I'll try plugging directly into the TV to see if it's any better, unfortunately I cannot keep it like that because Google decides to make this a box rather than a dongle and I have a TV that sits flush against the wall. So I'm assuming I'll go back to using the CCw/GTV, trash the Google Streamer and wait until I break down and buy Apples next streamer. Ugghhh... I try so hard with Google, but they fail me every time. Don't even get me started on my Google smart home products!

Sorry for the rant!
