Help. Google TV stops casting when I use another app

Hey guys. It was never problem. But I cannot cast from Google TV to Chromecast without it closing down if I use another app. Never had this problem before. Download a movie (from Google TV) but I have to have the app open to continue to stream. Am I being dumb? This doesn't happen on any other streaming app... Disney+ etc. any help would be great as it's driving me nuts 😭

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry your Google TV can't cast to Chromecast without closing down when you use another app. Let's work together to find a solution! Please check if your app is updated. Here's how:

On your TV, search for Google Play Store.
When Google Play opens, at the top right, go to the profile picture or initial.
Select Manage apps & games and then Updates and then Update all.

Thank you for the reply, very much appreciated. It turns out it was my phone. I now have a new phone and it is working perfectly!🤦🏻‍♂️
