topic Local Devices in Streaming

I have a device listed in Local Devices in the home app. I know that this means the device is on my network but hasnt been set up, and can't be deleted. However, I did set up the device already. The same device is set up, assigned to a room with a different name, and i can cast to it. I believe this happened when I re-set the device. It created the new device but didn't delete the old one. Ifni remove the new device, then I have two entries under Local Devices with the same name. How do I fix this?

Hi @Bbrruunnttoonn6!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that the Google Home app shows you a duplicate device and assigns it to local devices. I appreciate your efforts in taking those measures earlier. I'll be happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

Which Google Nest device do you have?

Do you have the latest version of the Google Home app?

When you try to remove the device, do you get any error messages?

Does the duplicate device show as offline?

Does the duplicate device show you the option to add it to a room?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi
