Chromecast crashes every time I try to mirror my screen from android

Every time I try to mirror my screen on my Chromecast via the Google home app, Chromecast crashes with the "connection lost" error and then reboots.

When did this issue start happening?
What version of Android are you using?
What model of phone do you have?
Does this issue occur when you normally cast from an app, such as YouTube?
What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
