Chromecast with Google TV not finding my WiFi Network

Brand new Chromecast with Google TV. Have a 3rd(?) Chromecast that I bought last year and have been using without issue but wanted to be able to run live TV without aerial (old "dumb" TV and no CEC to use phone as remote).

Using Google Home, connects to Chromecast device ok but does not list my WiFi network. It lists others (neighbours presumably) but not mine! I have tried manually connecting and doesn't find it (and double checked WPA2 security matches). I tried both via Google Home and using remote. I have no wifi/internet issues with my phone or any device (as above old Chromecast worked fine).

Here's what I've tried:

- Moved TV and router to within 1.5m of each other

- Factory Reset Chromecast

- Turned off Router (also tried ONT box for fibre) and restarted

- Cleared app cache for Google Home on phone

- Forced stop Google Home app on phone

- Checked Google Home app up-to-date

My router is set to 2.4gz but I don't know if Chromecast is 2.4 or 5ghz.

I just don't know why it won't see MY wifi network and sees others, when my WiFi isn't an issue for any other device!

Frustrated and despairing - what else can I try??!! :'(

Hard reset the Chromecast device using its built-in button.

If you have a dual band WiFi router, assign different names for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bandwidths and different passwords.

Connect your phone to the same WiFi network bandwidth where you I tent to connect the Chromecast device.

Try again, be patient and allow the device enough time to scan for the network.

If it still refuses to connect to the WiFi network, connect it with ethernet cable and then try to find and connect to a WiFi.

I'd already done the hard / factory reset button but it made no difference.

I don't think I have a dual band WiFi router - only shows 2.4Ghz option in dropdown for router wirelss settings

I gave it a very loooong time and numerous attempts to try and connect to Wifi (hours of trying!) without luck, despite it finding neighbours WiFi, which is further away!

I'll try to connect on ethernet and then see if it finds WiFi - not eactly easy since whole reason for wireless is TV not sitting next to router and have to lift TV down to middle of lounge floor, given I've no long cables. Just as well it's only a 32 inch!

Acces your WiFi router management interface and set AP isolation status to off.

I managed to chat with support and we resolved it by changing my router channel to 11 🤷
