Unable to see Chromecast Ultra on Windows 10 laptop

I can't see my Chromecast Ultra on my Windows 10 laptop.

I use Chrome browser, my laptop only has 2.4Ghz Wifi.

The chromecast is connected to my Virgin Hub 3 using 5Ghz.

Should add that I can cast to it perfectly well from my Samsung Galaxy.

Are your wifi networks seperate (ie two names... Primary 2.4ghz and secondary 5ghz)? Does your router have band isolation enabled? If your laptop is on 2.4 and the Chromecast is in 5ghz and the above question(s) are yes then you wouldn't be able to see if your right, but you can join the networks and ensure band isolation is not enabled so that you can communicate across bands.

know it's been a while, but I have tried the above and a few other things as well.

The only workaround I have found and it's not very satisfactory is to disable the 5Ghz network. This then gives e issues with the wi-fi (via an extender) into the kitched.

Guys... if you are working in a system (laptop) where you have 2 graphic adapters... you can try to disable the "external one" and keep only the intel one. I think all this screen mirror solutions are based on Intel hardware so... from Windows, you need to have Intel processor, intel graphic adapter and even, Intel wifi card. At least for WiDi
