Does anyone know if a usb c splitter and usb c micro sd card reader will work to expand the storage of the chromcast with gtv

Your Chromecast with Google TV requires power in order to work, so what you need is a powered USB-C hub, with multiple USB ports, built-in gigabit Ethernet port (optional, but highly recommended) and built-in card readers, able to handle between 60W - 100W of power. Add to this a power supply able to deliver at least 60W of power.

Thank you for responding, I get that but the reason I was asking about the splitter is because I already have the google power with ethernet. I was hopping the splitter could be used to connect the power and usb flash drive

Somehow, I don't think your USB splitter cables are rated for the amount of power handling required and for high network speed.

Do yourself a favour and use a powered USB-C hub, designed and optimized for safety and performance.
