      <title>Chromecast Audio - cannot authenticate</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a Chromecast Audio I have been using for years.&amp;nbsp; It has always been setup in the same place.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We haven't used it as much as we used to but this afternoon I decided I wanted to stream some music.&amp;nbsp; Although Spotify offered it as a device for casting it could not connect (this was from my phone).&amp;nbsp; I tried several times.&amp;nbsp; Spotify on my Chromebook couldn't see the Chromecast Audio.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So I reset the Chromecast Audio - pressing the reset button so the LED cycled white/amber (flashing)/white (steady).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then I tried to add it to Home using the app on my phone.&amp;nbsp; I get the error shown in the attached sccreenshot.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="Navrig_0-1741541272257.png" style="width: 400px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/55502i99690F4A17636AEE/image-size/medium/is-moderation-mode/true?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="Navrig_0-1741541272257.png" alt="Navrig_0-1741541272257.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have tried 3 times to do this and get the same message each time.&amp;nbsp; The link offered doesn't seem to suggest any solution.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Can you let us know the device you are using, your region and the Cast firmware version. (Device info, Tech info)&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same here. It seems they shut down the older Chromecasts around 6 pm CET. Got the same problem all of a sudden on one second generation Chromecast and three Chromecasts audio. Our whole video/audio set up is gone.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I get the same&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;error after reset, that they cant accept the device.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Im in Jutland, Denmark, and i am using Chromecast model NC2-6A5 (i think its a gen 2)&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;We also have a Chromecast Ultra, which works fine - so it seems to be an older gen problem??&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
