Directional pad issue on remote

For months, the directional pad on my Chromecast remote is mostly not working when I press it to move right. Other directions are fine. If I hold it down to the right, it typically does nothing and then zooms right. I’ve reset the remote multiple times and factory reset the Chromecast. Nothing works. Maybe just defective?

Sounds like the remote is defective. Would suggest you contact support directly if it's within warranty period! Otherwise they sell the remotes seperate on the Google store for about 20 bucks. If out of warranty and you feel up to it, you might try opening it up to see if there is a physical obstruction that you can remove as well.
