Foxtel App on Google TV Streamer not working

So purchased a GTV Streamer 4k to replace my apple TV - primarily as it advertised the foxtel App (which I use on my bedroom TV. It appears though that this is not supported on Android 14. I cannot understand how both Google and Foxtel can advertise their compatibility without it being functional. As I understand it there are the same issues with Binge and Kayo sports which are also popular in Australia.
Does anyone know of a way to obtain a GTVS4K build for Android 13?

Foxtel beta release works with Android 12 but not 13 yet I called and logged a ticket with foxtel but got no response

I did too, just to be told to wait for Google streamer update as the issue is not on Foxtel side……

It IS Foxtel's side. Their app(s) aren't compatible with Android 13 let alone 14. Google aren't going to back-date the version on the streamer. Seems like the app developers they use also write the Kayo and Binge apps, Unacceptable.

And got a response that stated they are working on the update for it to work

Foxtel have admitted their app does not work on Android 14 or newer. If you search the code AF4013 they claim they are working on it. This is quite typical of Foxtel though. They are always behind and take a long time to catch up or to fix things. I think they forget who pays them.

I believe Foxtel also control the Binge and Kayo apps, so we are kind of at their mercy. They have known about the issue for a long time, long before the Google Streamer was released in Australia, and they have refused to make it a priority to fix it.

It would be best to complain directly to Foxtel about this as this is not an issue for Google as Google do not write the apps.

This is nothing to do with Google as such. This is 100% a FOXTEL issue and as usual, they will take a long time to fix it. Foxtel have known about this issue for considerable time and have not bothered to make it a priority to fix it, even though they push the app as the best way for Foxtel Go / Foxtel Now.

The older Chromecast with Google TV (1080p version) still runs Android 13 and it works on that, but other than that, Foxtel has control over the apps that are not working and we will have to wait for them to fix it.

sadly not as yet, I called Binge and all they can say is they are working on it, at the moment I am putting it on my tablet and casting it to the streamer

According to a Foxtel "Live Chat" person this morning, uninstalling the Foxtel Go app and reinstalling often fixes the issue. Can't say I would expect that - particularly given the comments above - but I'm going to try it. Interested in whether anyone else has?

I bought a Google TV Streamer mainly to watch Kayo. I raised a support request with Kayo and they have just ignored it.

Hi everyone- had an update from Foxtel yesterday. They confirmed what we all knew which is that the app isn’t compatible with android 14. They said that the technical group are actively working on a change but couldn’t give me a time as to when it could be resolved. Said it may be 1-2 months.
