Chromecast Ultra devices generating a high level of network spam

I have two Chromecast Ultra devices in my network, both:
* System firmware version: 281627
* Cast firmware: 1.56.281627
* Language: en-US

Recently (possibly back a couple months?) they have both started to generate a high level of network spam with these status packets:

These requests are coming in perpetually at a rate of about 500,000 per day since the last update.

Just putting out there, Google tech suggestions 101 is "just factory reset and remove all your devices". That never works.

But to humor the situation, I did factory reset them. And then I learned that due to issues in the latest firmware, you cannot re-add them to your home account if you leave the LAN cable connected.

Finally got them both added back, and no change. They are each sending out close to 500 multi-cast messages in a burst, every 30 to 60 seconds. Below is an example of one of those burst events.
