Just to confirm, you have the 3rd generation of Chromecast? Is your Chromecast already setup or are you experiencing issues during the setup?

It’s 3rd generation I’m new to chrome casting l had it working 3 weeks ago when I got it l did an update on my iPhone and now I can’t get it working

Not to worry! Let's try these steps:

Make sure your Chromecast is within 15 - 20 ft (4-6 m) of the Wi-Fi router. Move it temporarily to test if needed.
Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both turned ON on your phone or tablet.
Turn OFF mobile/cellular data.
Reboot your router. Most routers just require that you unplug the power source and then plug it back in to reboot. Wait 5 minutes for it to be back up and running before continuing.
Reboot Chromecast by removing the power cable, then reconnect it.
Make sure you're using the latest version of the app you're trying to cast from, by checking your app store for any updates. You can also try testing with the YouTube app, to see if it is an app specific issue.
Restart the app you're trying to cast from.

Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the app. On older devices with a home button, double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the app.
Turn Wi-Fi off and on again on your phone or tablet.
Reopen the app.

If none of the steps above help, factory reset your Chromecast and then retry setup. You may also want to try using a different phone or tablet, just to test, if you have one.
