chromecast and device utility app

Hi there.

Not sure if it's the 2nd gen.

I'm trying to re-activate it, but it requires the device utility app, which seems unavailable on both my pixel 7, pixel 6 and one of my iphones. Google play tells me it's made for an older version of Android. Yes, my phone is all up to date.

I don't understand why this would happen, and i was wondering if google had stopped service for older chromecast gens.

I've factory reset my chromecast, same problem. I've force stop and uninstalled google home, and the app works for my other chromecasts.

Kind of in a dead end here, can any of you help me out? Thanks!

Regarding this situation, I recommend you try to use different mobile devices to pair the Chromecast device to the Google Home app. For your reference, follow the instructions in this article: Set up your Chromecast device (3rd gen or older).
