Yes and No, the Streamer does not necessarily make that easier. It will need to be setup again and again for each different WiFi.

But, there is a better way to do this if you travel a lot; get a portable Travel Router (just search on Amazon for "Travel Router") .

I use one when I travel. The trick is that you connect the Travel Router to the hotel network. Your router then creates your own private and protected network (nobody can cast to your device) and all of your devices can be pre-set to that Travel Router's network so they just automatically connect without having to do additional setup each time you move to a new place.

Basically...

Hotel WiFi (that changes name each time) -> Router -> (your travel wifi name that doesn't change) -> All your devices connected to your travel wifi.

Using a Streamer instead of an older style Chromecast may make it easier because you could use the remote and won't have to cast to it from another device so it's a little simpler. Though, you would have to carry a slightly larger device and NOT lose the remote.

Hi,

I've been using Chromecasts almost since day one and am now thinking of picking up a tv streamer.

I travel a lot. I always take Chromecast with me but it's a pain to set up - I may change hotel or business wifi on an almost daily basis.

Does the streamer make this easier? The Home app can be really temperamental
