CCWGTV remote no longer works for TV controls

It seems like there is a bug going on where I can't turn on, adjust volume, or change TV input on the CCWGTV remote. I tried removing my existing configuration, but it didn't work. When I tried setting it back up, it tells me "(⚠️) Use Chromecast's remote to set this up". I think this has to do with the latest TV Setup app update. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Could you please provide more details about when you tried removing your existing configuration and how you did it? Additionally, please provide the information requested below:

Please confirm if you can still interact with your Chromecast with Google TV with the remote to let me know if the issue is only when controlling your TV.
Can you describe what was happening to the streaming device and remote 5 minutes prior to the remote not working?
Can you please take a picture of the error message from the streaming device?
What type of batteries did you use?
- Are they the original batteries included in the box?
