Can’t setup child profile on google TV

I’ve been using chromecast with google tv for years, have multiple of the same device but now can’t add a child profile without failing at the finalising stage.

Spent hours trying to get no where. Can anyone help?

Google keeps making the Chromecast devices less and less family friendly. Their latest stunt of putting YouTube Kids inside of YouTube is also a disaster. You can't add a YouTube Kids profile inside YouTube when you are literally logged into a kids profile at the Google TV account level. They have no clue what they are doing and I doubt there are many Google employees that actually have families and they are a bunch of single people that don't actually understand how families with kids work.

It’s terribly frustrating! My other kids device is ok but this one, just will not work.

Had an email to say it’s been resolved, tested and it is not resolved. Problem is exactly the same

I accidentally factory reset my Chromecast (via button) and now I also cannot add kid profiles. I can add adult accounts but the kid-adding process fails at the very end, just as described. This is incredibly frustrating.

P.S. That one button on the device should absolutely not be a factory reset; I thought it was a restart/reboot button because the Chromecast was frozen. What a stupid design choice; at any time, out of spite, anyone could easily wipe out a Chromecast! Factory-reset buttons are typically recessed that requires a pin to insert & push; i.e., make it difficult to factory reset.
