Same problem here. I've tried restarting the browser, rebooting the device, and rebooting my Macbook, but still have the same problem as you. I also have a 2nd Gen Chromecast.

A few days ago my Chrome updated itself automatically. Before that I had no issues casting my screen to my Chromecast but now I get the message that I need to allow Chrome in the Local Networks setting on my Macbook Pro but it already got access. Found another post on here that recommended to disable a setting in chrome://flags/ and now I instead got ¨No devices found¨. I tried doing all the troubleshooting steps that's recommended for this problem but nothing works

Anyone else having this issue?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you're having issues casting your screen to your Chromecast from Chrome on your MacBook Pro after a recent browser update. I appreciate you letting us know about the troubleshooting steps you've already performed, including checking Local Network settings, trying to disable a Chrome flag setting, and executing the recommended steps. I'm happy to assist you.

Could you please confirm if the issue is only when trying to cast from Chrome on your MacBooks? Is it also happening when casting from non-iOS devices (like Android or Windows)?

Since you mentioned having allowed Local Network access, reset Chrome Flags and rebooted the devices, I recommend you uninstall and reinstall your Chrome browsers.

If the above steps don't work, a full uninstall and reinstall often clears the corrupted permissions that accumulate with updates, especially for macOS.

Fully Quit Chrome: Ensure Chrome is completely closed.

Delete the Application: Go to your Applications folder in Finder and drag the Google Chrome app to the Trash.

Empty Trash: Empty your trash to completely remove the files.

Restart your Mac: This helps clear any lingering memory or system caches.

Reinstall Chrome: Download the latest version from the official Google Chrome website and install it.

Grant Permissions: When you launch the new Chrome, it should prompt you for the Local Network and possibly Screen Recording permissions again. Ensure you click "Allow" or "OK" for all prompts.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Anders
