Hi @NewPensionerRon,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that you have been experiencing some issues with the Wi-Fi connection on your Google TV Streamer (4K). Regarding the connection dropping after a few minutes, I appreciate you looking for a workaround for this inconvenience! Let me help you out with this.

Before we move forward, I need some information to provide you with the most accurate steps:

As you mentioned you would try to use a Cat6a LAN lead to connect the device, what was the result of that (if you have already tried it)?

What is the firmware version of your device?

Is this issue happening with all the apps or just with specific ones?

Besides the workaround that you mentioned, have you tried any other troubleshooting steps?

Is your device connected to 2.4GHz or 5GHz?

Are you experiencing Wi-Fi issues with other devices, or just with the Google TV Streamer?

Once you provide this information, I will be more than happy to assist you further!

Best regards,

Recently upgraded wifi modem to a Telstra Smart Modem 4 and also upgraded to FTTP (now 525 MMPS). We had continual freezing/buffering beginning with the circle of death. After researching the topic I discover the Google streamer requires WPA2 so not to comprimise the entire home network by degrading from WPA3 I have added and now configured my Netgear extender to WPA2 with a seperate SSID and we now have viewing pleasure for around 40 minutes then it drops out with the circle of death. The signal strength is around 250 MMPs. The only time we have joy is when I hot spot my android and it will stream till the cows come home ..... what now ? As a temporary last resort I am going to buy a cat6a lan lead and try a hard wired connection between the streamer and modem. Is it the Telstra wifi modem at fault here ?
