Google streamer

So I just bought a new TV. Have a 3rd Gen Chromecast and decided I'll use that in the basement and buy a new Google streamer for the new TV. Well that problem is I can't get the Google streamer to broadcast dolby vision or hdr10. The Chromecast is using both and looks much better watching the same content on the same TV. I've tried everything. Does anyone have any fixes for this? Should I just return the streamer?

Thanks for contacting the community! I understand that you upgraded to the new Google TV Streamer, but you can't get it to output Dolby Vision or HDR10 on your new TV. However, your other Chromecast (3rd gen) handles both perfectly on the exact same setup. I appreciate the troubleshooting you've already done and am happy to help resolve this.

To better assist you and isolate the issue, could you please provide the following information:

What's the Google TV Streamer 4K firmware version? You can use this Google Nest Help center article as reference: Find your device’s firmware version.
What is the make and model of your TV set?
Have you tried using the Google TV Streamer (4K) on another TV set?
Is the Google TV Streamer connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
if you are using an Ethernet connection, are you using an HDMI-certified 2.1 cable to connect the streamer?
If you are using a Wi-Fi connection, how far is the device from the router?
Could you please run an internet speed test on the device and let me know the results?

In the meantime, I recommend adjusting the settings on your Google TV Streamer by following:

Turn on your Google streaming device
At the top right of your screen, select Settings (the gear icon).
Select the option “Display & Sound.”
Select Match content frame rate: Use this setting to allow your streaming device to match the frame rate to the source content you're viewing.
Go to Advanced display settings > Format selection, and ensure "Let apps automatically select an available format" is selected.
