Fast forward not working on Google TV streamer remote

Holding down the right side of the "donut" button only advances the film ten seconds. I've done it many times and that's all I get no matter what I'm watching. I have to press it dozens of times to go forward a few minutes. Everything else seems to be fine except that the volume control requires direct line of sight but no other controls do. I've checked the pairing and it's good. Newbie on this streamer, be gentle lol.

Regarding this situation, the fast-forward button is working as designed by advancing in 10-second increments. Additionally, because the remote uses IR (infrared) for certain functions like volume, pointing it directly at the streamer is the intended way for that control to function.

Thanks EduardoN. I wish I had known that about the fast forward before ordering. That's a major function for streaming and it's difficult to believe that there aren't thousands of complaints about it. My Roku was working fine so I can go back to that. Very disappointing.
