Google Streamer "Accessibility" broken

Settings app crashes when navigating within "Accessibility" settings page on Google Streamer on Android TV OS build UTTK.250729.004 .

When I navigate in the settings to the "Accessibility" section and try to move from the menu entry "Accessibility shortcut" down to "Time to take action" the settings app crashes.

This bug only occurs if I set the locale of my device to "en_GB" (English > United Kingdom), but not with the locale “en_US" (English > United States).

As soon as I switch back the language of my device to "English > United Kingdom" the accessibility pages crashes again as described above

Addendum:
The bug is already fixed in Android 16, but as long as Google does not backport it to Android 14 we will be stuck with our workround.

I also opened a new merge request to prevent this issue from happening again: https://android-review.googlesource.com/c/platform/packages/apps/TvSettings/+/3810803

There is hope that Google will merge and backport those fixes.

I'm having a similar issue with access rights for Projectivy Launcher. When I try to enable accessibility features, the toggle turns off.

This problem started about 2-3 weeks ago on my Chromecast and Google Streamer devices

I have the same issue on Chromecast with Google TV. This fix should really be backported or Chromecast should be upgraded to the Android version with the fix. Your workaround worked, thank you! Otherwise, it would've been a real pain to factory reset it and reconfigure everything again. I accidentally set the Time To Take Action to 2 minutes, then changed language, and couldn't set the timeout back. The pop up flashes would constantly block the screen. I sent this feedback through Chromecast itself too.

Could you please try READING the bug report? The language is the whole problem... We are forced to set it to US English to use the Accessibility menu.

The fact that this still hasn't been fixed is a direct violation of the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

To everybody else:

Hereby I want to request everyone who reads this to report it to the authorities. The penalties include serious fines.

Next to that every private individual can now start a lawsuit for compensation, regardless whether they need the accessibility features or not.

I just found this same bug. I have my language set to English (Canada).
