I am experiencing a specific regression issue with the Chromecast remote firmware update. Here are the details:

1. Previous Normal Behavior (v26.0): When my remote was on version 26.0, the IR configuration worked perfectly. Pressing the Power button would simultaneously turn the TV on/off (via IR) and wake/sleep the Chromecast (via Bluetooth).

2. The Issue in v26.7: After the remote automatically updated to version 26.7, the Power button lost its ability to control the Chromecast. It only sends the IR signal to the TV. The Chromecast stays awake or asleep regardless of the button press.

3. Settings Menu Failure (v26.7): In an attempt to fix this, I removed the TV device from the "Set up remote buttons" menu while on v26.7. However, I am now unable to re-configure the TV buttons. The setup process fails to save or recognize the TV brand, making it impossible to restore IR functionality in this version.

4. Temporary Fix and Forced Update: If I factory reset the remote, it reverts to version 26.0, and everything works perfectly again—both IR and Chromecast power sync function as expected. Unfortunately, the system soon forces an automatic update back to 26.7, breaking the functionality all over again.

Why don't you try with HDMI-CEC?
