Define regular Chromecast.

The only comparison you can make is with the Chromecast with Google TV.

If you enjoy a standalone operation and the benefit of a hardware and voice controlled remote, Chromecast with Google TV is the choice. Add to it the benefit of an USB-C port and "expand" your world.

Regular Chromecast does not support 4K, ethernet port, or stadia. Chromecast ultra supports those. Chromecast with Google TV is a different animal entirely but I feel the superior product. And yes it works with stadia.
