So how do i stop others in my house from pausing and controlling the videos im watching on just my phone?

The only way that would happen is if you chose to cast your screen. It's not something someone else using the same Wi-Fi can make your phone do, so there's no action you need to take to prevent it. You can check by opening the Google Home app on your phone.
