Google TV extra storage

I was wondering if anyone here has managed to get a hub between the Google TV and the power adaptor, I have tried a couple and always get that the power from the hub is not powerful enough to power the device, I'm using the original Google plug and running that into the type c power on the hub and from the hub into Google TV Chromecast but I get the area, any information or ideas would be very much appreciated
