Order of apps on Chromecast resets when flash drive disconnects

I recently got a USB hub and connected a flash drive to my Chromecast w/ Google TV to increase storage. I moved a bunch of apps over. Sometimes I will, usually accidentally, unplug the flash drive. When this happens, my carefully crafted app list gets reset and all the apps on the external drive move to the bottom.

Please remember the location of my apps when a drive is reconnected. Even better, do a tvOS style syncing where your app locations are remembered in the cloud and if you have multiple devices, the apps sync across them.

Should have been more specific. When I asked for the app list to sync with the cloud, that was a suggestion. However, I really need apps to remain in their same location after a USB drive is reconnected. This is unacceptable behavior that I would hope is a bug.
